I might be missing the organization that is in VT focused on helping people get through the jargon loop-jumping of starting an NPO? I found Common Good VT and thought, maybe you would have a contact for such an organization or be it? My wife an I live in Lincoln, VT and are considering buying the land we are now care taking, to start a community resource center, permaculture farm, bakery, and re-skilling school.... any help?

Simha,
Thanks for writing and congratulations on deciding to join Vermont's independent sector. Common Good VT is a new initiative and is meant to strengthen the state of Vermont's independent sector and nonprofits.Starting a nonprofit can be a productive, successful experience but there are some very key points to consider. Is another nonprofit already in existence that works toward a similar goal? Are you familiar with the legal and tax issues involved with starting and running a nonprofit? Here are some helpful guidelines gathered from around the web
